QED is proud to present the new Performance Active HDMI cable designed specifically for use at High Speed over cable runs up to 15 metres in length.
A brand new design concept from QED which utilises QED 'Active Filter Technology'TM delivering high speed up to and including 15m. Until now it has been difficult to achieve support for 3D, Deep Colour or 4K video resolution over the long distances required for modern high performance projectors. It is often necessary to employ expensive booster boxes which require external power supplies or use cables with a difficult to hide “electronic bulge” inconveniently situated half way along. QED Performance Active HDMI changes all that by introducing Active Filter Technology™. A dedicated integrated circuit especially developed to provide High Speed data performance over long cable runs is built unobtrusively into the head shell of each cable.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Superior Video and Audio PerformanceIndependently tested to deliver High Speed w/Ethernet and exceed the requirements of the latest HDMI specification. Supports Full HD, 3D, 4K and Deep Colour. Active Filter TechnologyTMSpecial active electronics built discreetly into the head shell that is designed to extend the High Speed performance of the cable up to 15m. It is so discreetly done in fact, that the head shell has to be specially marked so that the cable can easily be installed the correct way around with the Active Filter at the “display” end. The signal is filtered to remove unwanted components of the signal above and below the required frequency band and the remaining signal is amplified to the original level. This means that features such as 3D, 4K and Deep Colour can be enjoyed over long distances.

Very low jitterPerformance Active HDMI measures at less than 50ps of jitter, significantly reducing the incidence of bit errors reaching the TV and maximising the audio and video data transfer. Specifications99.999% Oxygen Free Copper conductors Full HD 1080p60 |
CABLES MATTER
QED is one of the only UK manufacturers able to test HDMI cable designs beyond the scope of the current HDMI specification; which means it is uniquely placed to evaluate new technical innovations before deciding whether or not to introduce them into full production. QED has identified cable induced timing error, termed ‘jitter’, as one of the key differentiators between satisfactory and outstanding cables. |
These findings have enabled us to optimise transmission speed and jitter performance to ensure that both exceed the high standards we set for our Performance cable range. Naturally, because QED customers demand better, we have scientifically designed our cables to reduce jitter to the absolute minimum. |

OVERALL PERFORMANCE
Very Low JitterJitter is the undesired deviation from true periodicity of an assumed periodic signal in electronics and telecommunications, often in relation to a reference clock source. A cable displaying very low jitter has been measured at |
Active Filter™ TechnologyIncorporates electronics that can measure performance of the twisted pairs in the cable and apply an appropriate active equalization network designed to extend the High Speed performance of the cable to 15m. The signal is filtered to remove unwanted components of the signal above and below the required frequency band and the remaining signal is amplified to the original level. |
3D & 4K Compatible3D = compatible with 3D TVs; cable has a minimum bit rate of 4.45 Gb/s 1080p Full HD = a video resolution with a bit rate of 4.45 Gb/s 4K = Highest native video resolution offered by HDMI 1.4b; 4096×2160p24 36 bit/px = bit rate 8.03 Gb/s High Speed with Ethernet = 10.2Gb/s so any High Speed Cable supports all these resolutions |
HDMI High Speed with EthernetApplies to any HDMI cable that has been tested at an authorised test centre and has been found to pass the eye mask test at a combined data rate of 10.2Gb/s 340Mhz pixel clock. The cable must also have passed testing of the CEC and DDC connectivity and be compliant with HDMI Ethernet and Audio Return Channel test procedure. |
